Some extraordinary color photos c. 1910--yes there was a three glass RGB process developed for color . . .

Absolutely wonderful photos, thank you.
I look at these and realize that they were only a few years from their way of life, and clearly in the case of that one fellow, life, was about to end. The Jewish children around their Rabbi, how many survived to old age? Is the cathedral still standing or was it destroyed in the name of progress? Could someone on this board unknowingly have decended from someone in the photos? I love photography of this type (rather than the stupid artistic photo of a pear stuff) because it does capture people and places that sometimes you can revisite or maybe soon be gone forever. Good stuff. |

Superb lighting and excellent composition. All pictures done by very competent photographers.

Could some one explain to me how these photos and the one of that ship in Antartica are so crisp and clear after all this time and considering cameras were only around for 50 years or so at the time and people STILL can't take a clear photo of what they say is a UFO or Ghost?

Actually you would have what is known as a contact print if the pictrure were only a 4 x 5 inch print. I hope that helps answer your question. Ther may be another answer but this answer is a definite possibiliity.
