In Routines like Mac King or in Patter like Copperfield...
So... Anyone here does it on a regular basis as part of your Shows? Care to share or think up ways to do so? I'm thinking of doing it btw...

In Sucker Silk to Egg I put on a sissy looking pinkish mask with some by play to expose how the trick works. However, once I can see that the egg is a real one, I am a real magician again so I don't need the mask anymore.

My Russian Roulette Firing Squad of Death uses just such a presentation:
Six identical toy dart guns are shown. The first 5 are loaded and shown not to shoot at all. The 6th one is loaded and shown to be the only one that shoots. All 6 guns are put on a spinner and spun. Five spectators get a free (yes free!) choice of any gun and any dart. Magician is required to take the last gun not chosen. All guns are loaded. The 5 spectators line up and take aim at the performer. Performer takes aim at a picture of the Masked Magician. At the count of "3" all 5 spectators pull their triggers...none of their guns shoot. Magician then pulls his trigger and shoots his gun, the dart sticks to the picture of the Masked "Magician."

Thanks Pakar Ilusi. It's my first marketed effect! (Shameless plug!)

I don't have any particular effects using masked magician mockery as a theme...
But for halloween I once went as a parody of the masked magician, wearing a pair of groucho glasses over the mask, and showing people how to pull their thumb off and other childish non-tricks.
