I paid several hundred dollars for it about ten years ago, I prune it twice a year, and now it has the jungle rot. It isn't as much about the money as it is about my years of shaping it into a perfect umberella shape. Is there anything that I can do at this point, or should I just put it out of it's missery?

If it is rot then you are having a problem draining the water away from it. You need to drain the water away more effectively to try to save it.

Al,
Check with your local county extension folks. They should have answers/help for your area and possible solutions to the problem. |

If it is possible to save it maybe I should go back to the nursery where I bought it.

You are correct, all trees that develop rot have it from the beginning. Sorry for my intrusion. That is what happens when you ask in a magic forum, a nonsense answer like a tree can develope rot.

Santa
"not very magical still" is where I get all of my professional advise. A couple months ago I said something about my alergies, and a Beverly Hills ear, nose, and throat doctor at this very forum told me what medication that I should ask my doctor to prescribe for my symptoms, so you see my friend magicians know everything. HA HA HA TRUE STORY

Based on your tree beliefs you did not have an alergy issue two months ago as you should have always had it and resolved it years ago. Ha ha ha.
