HI Can any one tell me what to do if you have a coin such as one used in Scotch and Soda, or 2 copper 1 silver meaning copper /silver and the copper side wears off and looks silver in spots . I was wondering if there is a decent metallic paint? I have 2 coins like this and the spots are getting bigger . Thanks

You must use the heck out of that set to wear it down that much. I'd just get a new one.

Nicholas , no actually the centavo was tarnished and the regular was not. I cleaned them all with Brasso. I think that did something. Thanks.

I think Brasso is a little too abrasive isn't it?

I have the same issue with my insert on my clad johnson set. 2C1S
I heard a while back johnson uses replica centavo's.. I was thinking they could be copper platted and the copper wore off on mine... Just a guess. Shawn

Thanks guys maybe Brasso was a bit harsh but here is an interesting point. I have a few centavo coins they are "worn"or silver all in the same place on the coins as the gaffed ones. I don't know if the centavos I have are real copper but they were only 5 dollars. I have seen copper ones for $95.00 Thanks for your help Anthony

You should be able to get copper 20 Centavos coins for $1.25 apiece or less. Try E-Bay or a coin shop.

You can get them a lot cheaper than that in Mexico. 20 centavos is twenty cents, and a peso is only worth about 8 U.S. cents.

Gee, not counting the cost of a trip to Mexico, that is pretty cheap.

Oh it's not far, less than a mile from here. I could walk it easily, but then you need a heavily armed tank escort to safely enter and return.

Go to your local coin shop and and go through their International coins. You may be surprised at what you find. I always find English Pennies, Mexican Centavos, Chinese coins and other good stuff for reasonable prices.

TC I looked on line at a local coin shop's inventory. The centavos were older but looked like mine . Do you know if they are copper? Will they "hold" up " any better than the ones I have from 1973 -74? Thank you . Anthony
