I didn't really get it, I'm afraid. How does one ever go about tearing off the striker on a matchbook without harming the underneath side? Strange effect IMO.

Yes, that's right. I mean how does one ever go about tearing off the head of a volunteer via guillotine without actually killing them? Really strange effect IMO.

That's not exactly what I meant. It's hard to explain, but what I guess I'm trying to say is that there is absolutely no logical, real way of ripping off the strip of a matchbook. Whereas with a guillotine, you actually CAN cut off somebody's head. Do you see what I'm saying?

Wow, nice work here! What can I say, it looks great to my eyes. Yes, we all know Jesse does have a history of grossly misrepresenting on his video demos and occasionally even totally 'cheating' them (sorry, but it is true). That said, I'm going to assume he's graduated from those days and is offering up something as good as it looks. Is it totally logical? No, but I'm not sure it has to be.

I see your point - but it does look very magical; there doesn't need any logic to be applied here IMHO...

Perhaps you're right. I just watched the demo again and I think the part where the strip visually jumps does look VERY good. I think it confused me though when the ad copy said something about tearing and visually restoring the strip on a matchbook.

I like the fact that this is a small little miracle that's visual and doesn't take up any pocket space.

Very interesting. This and Scorch by Jacob Hanson seem like great segways to Lit.

Ok, can anyone offer some real world working advice on this effect? What are the angles like? Is the reset practical for walk-around magic? Talk to me… Jesse, can you offer any words on angles, reset ability, etc…?

I went ahead and bought this, so I’ll have a bit of a review up soon. I’d like to road test this in my restaurant walk-around situations first. Stay tuned…

Strike is quite simple to build the gimmick, and easy to learn. Your angles are not too bad, but you can’t have someone directly bellow you. Good for table hopping. Now, if you are surrounded I would recommend holding the gimmick closer to your body and I stay aware of who is behind me so I can keep track of how to bend or turn to avoid exposure. Also, I use Strike to go into several other matchbook effects such as Smoke, and Lit. Just some of my thoughts for now. Hope this helps. For the price, you can’t beat it.

Very disappointed. This wasn't impromptu as the ad states. Only the first 2 phases. I emailed Theory 11 to try and get a refund.

Looks very magical why not have an extra strike piece to show after you tear it off much more convincing , The other effects are great !
