I am trying to gather the items I need for a show I've written.
I am going to need a device to make soft objects (small teddy bears for instance) appear and disappear and I am lost when I see all the existing devices.

I already own a box which can make things appear.

If someone could advise me that would be great.

I have to deal with A, B, C, D (I put letters to simplify).

Only A is on stage in the beginning.
A disappears (device looks empty).
Then B appears instead, then C instead B then back to A.
D can appear from the other box I already own so it's not a problem.
B and C do not need to reappear at all.

It is for kid shows, on stage so no one will inspect the device.
Occasionnally kids come on stage so they may see the device from behind (unless I cheat and use a 'magical big sheet' from time to time during the show).

The idea would be some sort of change box.
Do you have an idea ? Or a book or DVD explaining how to buid my own device ?
