Would you guys suggest getting the video or book of AoM volume one? Just want to know what your opinions are!

Video. It is much easier to see and you get more information when you actually can see it being performed.

There isn't a book called 'Art of Card Manipulation' is there?
I've never heard of it if there is. Even if there is - I would still vouch for the video, much easier to learn from! Good luck with your manipulations Kevin |

Haven't read them, are they anything like AoCM? Does it teach more or less?

I only have the first book, but it isn't anything like the McBride series. For a start it doesn't focus on 'card productions', it is more 'card sleights'. It covers palms, colour changes, passes and those sort of 'manipulations'. It does teach a few productions; the aerial card fan production which I personally feel is the best in the book.
I remember McBride referring to 'More Card Manipulations' on one of his videos, but as I wasn't overly impressed with Jean Hugard's first book, I never went on and purchased the 'more' series. Very confusing! Hope this makes sense! Kevin There are also a lot of arm spreads/catches - if that is your sort of thing. I have never found time to practise them so they didn't interest me at all! Just my opinion, Kevin |

The second book, More card manipulations, has a squeeze production, and a cottone snap production, which has never been published anywhere else.

Published....meaning written? If not AoCM 3 has the squeeze production.

Hi all!
(Wow, I'm getting in the habit of starting second pages...) Here I thought I had all of McBride's videos, and now see this thread. Art Of Card Manipulation? Volumes 1-3? Are they available on VHS? Love to check those out. McBride's a MASTER. If you've ever seen him close up (he was a guest at our IBM meeting here locally quite a few years back), it'll knock your socks off! Can't say enough good things about him. Doug |

Another good book would be Encyclopedia of Card Flourishes. You can find it on one of the links at: http://www.Superhandz.com
