I was wondering how many people use a trunk as a platform for a table. I've been watching The Art of Street Performance and it seems more and more appropriate for my act. Was wondering if anyone has any favorite trunks that they have used, and where to get it. I've looked at Army Surplus, WalMart, etc but have only found small footlockers that looks like a strong wind could break. Anyone know the type/brand that Cellini showed on his video? Thanks, Jim.

Hi Jim, Jim Cellini soon make some custom cases for Sale with all the stuff you need. The Trunk from the DVD is original from Europe and perfect. They are on the way to Cellini. If they ready to buy, I think Kozmo can help you then but it needs a few weeks. If they around it will be post it here.

My trunk is made by a company who makes flightcases. They can make it to your needs in your colors.

Kid Iowa,
I have always used a trunk as a table in my street work. Every trunk I've used, I got a a garage sale, each one for less than $15. The current one is an aluminum photograper's case, upended, with casters on the bottom. It is about 30 inches high, 18 inches wide, and about 9 or 10 inches deep. I put shelves inside that are horizontal when the trunk is on end. On the outside are brackets that hold a seve-foot "magic wand" that flies a sign with my name, what's going on (and the name of the sponsor, if there is one), as well as holding a plastic top hat that acts as -- well, kinda obvious: the "hat". Just think through what you need and you'll be able to come up with exactly that! And it shouldn't cost you a fortune! |

Peter,
Do you put a table top on top of your trunk? If so, what size? How is it attached? Thank You, |

Big Jeff,
No, I don't have a table top on the trunk because I don't use any sort of table in street work. The trunk is just to carry and hold the stuff that I use at the site, as well as signs, extra balloons (for balloon work), sunscreen, etc. All the magic, I either do in my hands or the spectator's hands. |

As you see from Jim's DVD he explains quite a bit about the trunk and the table top.
He even uses it in his Lectures, although he wasnt using it lately on the street, opting for reasons that he explains on the DVD> I think the top as Jim describes it, works great. It isn't permanent but is stable. He can works cups, or anything he wants on it, and backside doubles as a sign. If you have the trunk, it should be easy to work out the table top as Jim did.
