I have always got a lot of mileage out of the 'Impossible Card To Anywhere' effects. I used to do the 3 aces (the one that looks like a diamond but really is the ace of hearts) and make the AOH appear elsewhere. I then got into torn-corner switching, but now I have upgraded to the Bloom device. I love it! Many, Many, glass doors, windows, glass stand-up coolers, my cards have penetrated.
Last night, I was at my class reunion of 1995. Knowing that my old classmate friends would be there and probably mention about the magic I did through high school, I stuff my pockets with a few things. (flashpaper, deck of cards, coin prediction effect, and planted the 'card to box' in my wife's purse, a Bloom card) It's funny how more I get into magic the less I bring, but the more I have to offer at the same rate. I showed up waaaay early. Not by accident, the FaceBook post just said where and what day. I assumed it was 6 pm. So, I went up the elevator and found a empty dark room, set all up with decor and place mats. So, my wife & I waited in the car for people to show up. Then, I realize what a perfect setup to go in early and plant a 'Impossible Card To Anywhere' card. I re-entered the room (alone) and went over to the window. They were shut and couldn't be open because of some screws. Soooo, that was out. The only other possibility was a stand-up glass cooler. Now, I have done a card thru the cooler before. But, this cooler, was locked with a big bar & lock. So, I tried to open the door and it opened just a crack. Enough, to slide a card into. I then proceeded to flick it as hard as I can... and the card flew into cooler, resting all the way in the back, behind some wine bottles. PERFECT! I left.. about an hour later, I let some old friends go up first. But, later that night.. I saw the wine bottles where moved closer. I looked behind them and saw my card still laying there.. YES! When the time, was right.. I was chatting with some classmates and told them I'm up here to get a free beer and that I heard the barmaid was hot on card tricks. So, I then proceeded to ask the barmaid, someone told me you really really like card tricks and I have something I have to show you. I asked her for a deck of cards, which was declined, and explained she didn't have any. Of course, I have did a flash appearance of a deck. Similar to the 'Flash Appearance' in Eric Jones/David Harkey book, but without the flashpaper. Basically, the deck is just finger palm, and both hands mirror each other, has the thumb flips the deck in view. It really does look magically and surprising. I used this for the 'Invisible Deck' effect, where at the end the spectator throws the cards between my fingers and it appears. Anycase, I riffle forced the card, with the bloom gimmick, right below the top card. Which anyone that has the Bloom gimmick, realizes it almost impossible to riffle a deck with it on top. I found if you reverse the gimmick you can do it easy, and then simply rotate the deck, after the card has been picked, for the tear sequence. So, I had her sign the corner, and tear the corner off. As she was signing, I palmed the Bloom device and pocketed it. Place the card about close to the top and sprung, not the entire deck, but just about 2/3rds leaving me with a block of cards, with the torn card inside the block in my hand, at the cooler. I usually, undercut the effect, explaining that your card is going to stick to the glass and look for something that is readily available..hmmm.... how about this glass cooler. I love this effect, the cards fly everywhere and looks crazy. Well, of course, I explained that I must have sprung the cards too hard and too look inside the cooler. She found the card impossible inside the cooler. I matched up the corners and got my free beer! A older girlfriend, classmate picked up all my cards for me. She then explained how her uncle does magic, but he has never did that. I flipped out, cuz it was Jay/John Rumple.. the 'magic of Rumplestiltskin' he was a local magician that I watched as a kid and was sorta a mentor, while in-directly inspiring me into doing magic professionally. I totally forgot her last name was Rumple. She talked about us setting up a time to go meet him, down in Pigeon Forge, where he performs professional. This was a great surprise and topped the free beer. I really believe in life there are no coincidences, but there are paths which you can take or not. I'm glad I strive to take every opportunity I can get. I found it really pays off. Thanks for your time in reading just another one of those magically stories.
Theater, cinemas, and literature are all better forums for telling stories or creating drama. Stand-up comedy is better for telling jokes. But magic is unique in creating the Twilight Zone sense of turning a corner and finding yourself on another street, in another town, in another country. Deception is the means to that end. –John Bannon

These Malini type of set-ups and waiting for the right time always create a miracle...
I do that all the time...keep em coming mate!
The things that are most real to me are the illusions which I create...everything else is quicksand...
