Hello Fellow magician I am quite new to these forums so I hope this is in the proper section. So I decided that I am going to go and blow 300 dollars give or take on some new magic equipment/information. The trouble is I have no idea what to get. So my question to you is if you had 300 bucks to go blow on magic what would you buy? Hope this topic is as fun for you as it will be helpful for me!

Sorry I did not provide enough information I am a House Magician at TGI Friday's and Junior member of the magic castle. I am looking for something along the lines of a device that I will use everyday like I would a t.t. or a deck of cards. Thanks again!

I would definitely look into DVDs or instructional material. Why not make what you do already better.

While I agree with the ideas of technique first and getting the basics right to progress from that foundation (which is something I practice myself in magic and music) there is something to be said for indulging in a guilty pleasure and purchasing a trick just for instant gratification.
If I had 300 to spend, (and already own nothing) I would get the usual books mentioned, then get something really quick and fun! a few things come to my mind, not knowing much about you and sorry if any of these are offensive, so going on devices... a raven? Dave forrest has some really nice gimmicks that could be used every day on full52.com a tommy pad or other similar thing get some mentalism routines done that rely on something like envelopes and billets, can do them everyday and can make the effects personal omni deck (don't own one but considering it)

A deck of Jerry's Nuggets.
Just kidding, folks.

Thanks Full 52 looks interesting I have never been on that site thanks for the suggestion! I do have a raven but it is unfortunately just gathering dust because of my love of the classic palm goshman pinch combo. =) As for mentalism I have always loved mentalism but found that while mentalism is more fun magic sells to a much larger demographic. =/ I practice mentalism for fun! I do magic magic for money. My Jerry Nugget deck is in the mail as we speak ;P jk. Im kinda trying to stay away from more books seeing as I have 5 shelves filled and need the last one for College textbooks. X) but thanks for the suggestion I Love my magic books 110 legitimate tricks in one book sure beats the pants off 3 out of 10 legitimate tricks on a dvd. Thanks for the fast responses I have a feeling I am going to enjoy this magic community you all seem like some good ol' chaps!

OK, here you go:
Rope. You can do a million things with a piece of rope. Wax. For card on ceiling, etc. Nielsen Vanishing Bottles gimmicks. Jason Palters Twist Tie Extreme Burn 2. what ever Richard Sanders is up to now. A Wallet or two, Himber, Pimpernal, Hip Pocket Bombshell, take your pick.
