I have an idea for a prop that is a version of the card duck. I was interested in some plans on this illusionette or some who might be able to create this for me.
Anyone know of any plans out there for this? Jimmy |

No there are no plans for the Card Duck, but they are cheap enough today, as they are made in India, that it would be easier to buy one to get the measurements.
Would it be possible to just alter the current versions on the market? http://www.magicinc.net/cardduck.aspx http://www.makmagic.com/product-popup.asp?prodid=P2180 http://www.makmagic.com/product-popup.asp?prodid=P8025 |

I used these a lot in my shows at the Playboy Club in Denver many, many years ago. Since the card duck broke down so often, I gutted the Mexican made version I had and refitted it with robust stainless steel parts. I have gotten over 25 years of continued use with the reworked duck. I also had it professionally painted.
Husdon Grotzinger of Ft. Collins used to make them for CW, although he no longer is producing them. He may be able to offer you advice.

Jimmy,
I have designed and built a proto-type for a new version of the Card Duck ( Please do not ask when I will release it as I am still working out the final touches) I based mine off the mechanics of a Hamilton Duck. His were the best both in mechanics and finish. You can pick up a used one for $75-150 depending on condition. Rip it apart and take a look. You will need some metal skills as there are some custom shaped metal parts with fairly tight tolerances. Just for the record...mine is called ROBO-DUCK!! If you have any further questions, feel free to call me. Chance
