I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good way to replace multiplying candle wicks. I have the cheap set -- I believe from India. It's worked really well for me, surprisingly given how inexpensive the set was. I'm really having a tough time changing wicks -- anyone have any pointers?
thanks, B |

It is just use a wick like Ronson. It is just twisting and feeding it in, even the most expensive versions are the same.
To slow down the burn-up of wicks, try using 'Lamp Oil' and not lighter fluid. |

The lamp oil that you church uses in the altar candles is ideal as it is smokeless. Very clean burning.
Magically,

A craft/hobby store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby carries candlewicking in different diameters, in the candle making section. I hope this helps.

Take out all cotton wool and old wick from the candle. Cut a piece of a fishing line ca 50 cm long and insert both ends tru the top hole and than tru the bottom hole. Leave a small loop of fishing line above the top hole and tread new wick tru it. Pull on the fishing line and wick will be in the fuel canister. You have to reinsert cotton wool after the wick has been replaced.
