Does anyone have any tips on how to best store their NFW packet trick? Specifically, I have kept the half-inch flap of waxy paper that comes with the gimmick, and covered the gimmick with it when I put the trick away... I'm just obsessive I guess. I'm concerned that if I don't do this and leave it uncovered with it pressed up against another card that if left to sit, it might lift the ink off of that other card. Does everyone understand what I'm getting at? Ideally it would be better to store it without the protective paper, such that it is "ready to go" always.
I'm just wondering if anyone has had problems with the gimmick lifting ink (or whatever) if left to sit up against another card. Thanks |

I don't think it is a good idea to leave the gimmick against a regular card for any length of time. For a few hours it is OK. I use kitchen wax paper, cut to card size to store the packet. Before a performance, I take if off. I make several wax paper savers at a time because sometimes it is easier to just throw it away than try to save it.

I keep my NFW in a plastic card holder but found the tape adhered to the plastic and stayed there, leaving the card tape free.
I have now replaced the DStape with a few dabs of Zig 2 way glue and it lasts for ages. If it loses its adhesion rub it off with your thumb and re-apply. |

Having had similar problems in the past I now use 3M Re-Mount Spray instead of the usual gimmick supplied. I find the cards are much much easier to store using this method.

Thanks Lunatic. I found it at my local craft shop...near the scrap booking supplies.

Great advice as I left the gimmick against the other card and it transfered part of the gimmick to the other card. I had to remake another NFW. I think that I will use Zig 2 way glue too.
NFW is freakin awesome. I keep mine in a card wallet with wax paper on the gimmick. |

I just bought and tried Zig 2 way glue. This stuff is awesome. I will never again use the gimmick from NFW on anything else. I even use this glue on my WOW gimmick. Thanks for the link.

Does Zig glue talk when separating the cards?

Less than the alternative given with the trick. This stuff is pretty awesome. I trace the joker's bike with it and it is non deceptable. For the $3.47 it cost you should try it out. Good luck to you.

It works very well for Jon Allens Double Back too. Zig glue does "talk" but the noise is minimal.
For those of you who do not know about Zig 2 way glue, it can be used as a normal glue when wet or if left to dry it becomes a tacky, re-usable glue, extremely useful for gaffed card work. |

Another way to hide the noise is to make it less sticky by presing your thumb on and off it 10 times. This makes it worn in and you won't hear anything.

Anyone know of a place to get the Zig glue in the UK? Have had no luck. Maybe it's called something else here?

Scotch Resositionable Glue Stick - Has a bit of a soap smell but holds well. Makes a little noise when separating deepening on how much you apply. 90 second curing time.
Elmers Resositionable Picture and Poster Stick - No noise when separating and no smell at all. No curing time. Neither leaves and color or stains the cards. If you want to be able to separate the cards in performance just apply about an inch square in the center of the card.

Agree with Quail Creek. It works great on a lot of applications. Elmers is the best and it can be purchased at Office Max.
