I never mentioned the benevolence of rulers. And as far as believing in rights- who cares. Believing in them is meaningless unless you have a system in place that protects and upholds them.

Magicfish, I'm aware of what you are saying, but that is irrelevant to whether or not I was putting words in your mouth.
Also, I am not against people governing themselves at all. And there are plenty of ways to do it without a centralized monopoly on force. Also, I think it should be clear that I was not arguing you should be able to yell whatever you want in a crowded theater without consequences.
