From Robin Leach we learn that the Amazing Kreskin is about to begin a run in Las Vegas at the Riviera. http://bit.ly/9ILKee
If anyone can assist me in contacting him for a possible interview, I'd be most appreciative. |

Maybe I can ask? What other questions would you ask if I can indeed schedule a chat? What do you know and want to know more about? What do you think you know and want clarified? Is there a question that you'd like answered that has never been asked? Lemmeno!

I saw Kreskin many, many years ago perform in a small Grange Hall in Hastings, Michigan. Wow- what a show- Kreskin gave 110% and it seemed to matter to him not that this was a show for a small town audience in a packed out, poorly lit, stuffy community hall. At the end of the program- Kreskin's check for doing the show was carefully hidden- and of course he found it. Really impressed me- what a great showman. He held that audience in the palm of his hand. Kreskin did a standard "Key R Rect" in that show and got more mileage out of it than you could ever imagine. I think you could have placed his entire act props in a lunch box. Did Kreskin ever not find his check? Did he ever not get an effect to not work on the Mike Douglas show? How many times on that program? Still doing his yearly predictions about future events? How many shows is he planning to do in 2011 (does he ever indicate his age- how does he keep his energy up and his boyish enthusiasm for what he does each and every time?) How is his health now- ongoing cancer checkups? I could be wrong on this- but he (and mentalists in general other than Max Maven) seem to rarely perform at magic conventions or do lectures- any chance of Kreskin doing that- signing an autobiography, etc.? Any accurate autobiographies coming down the road on his career- the trials, tribulations and truimphs? Ever been on the cover of Genii or Magic Magazine, member of the IBM or SAM, etc.? We'd love to see Kreskin in Colon during Magic Week and get to talk to him? Will he greet folks personally after his Vegas show to give autographs and pictures?- that would be EXCELLENT.

Ask him when the UFOs are coming to Vegas. Then he just might hang up on you. But seriously, I'd love to hear his version of that fiasco and why he didn't pay up as promised to a charity. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, check it out here...

Then in the 1980s and 1990s, he came to prominence again through several appearances on Late Night with David Letterman. In 2009, he became the first guest to make three appearances on the new Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He is still active as a live performer, appears regularly on WPIX in New York City, and appears annually on the Fox News Channel and CNN to give his New Year's Day predictions for the coming year. One of his best known tricks is finding his check for a performance, which he instructs the audience to hide while he is escorted off stage and into seclusion by other members of the audience. While finding the check on most occasions, he has failed to find the check nine times. The 2008 movie The Great Buck Howard is based on the experiences of writer-director Sean McGinly who worked briefly as the road manager for Kreskin. |

I saw him at the Riviera 2 weeks ago, great show and it was only $50 a head. Cheap considering the costs of shows in Vegas nowadays.

Tony45 I noticed you just joined the Cfae today, I'm assuming to make this post. Are you a rabid fan, Kreskin's new manager, or Kreskin himself?

On the Buck Howard DVD the special feature section has a brief interview with Kreskin, He acknowledges the "onstage" part of the film was him but says the "personality" was not. The funny part is, that Kreskin's comments are said in such a way that even a causual observer would conclude that the "personality" -meaning the big over-bearing and out-of-touch ego - he denys are based on him very obviously are. And that personality is perfectly captured on film by both writer and actor brilliantly.

I still need to see that film.
They shot a portion of it at my university in Los Angeles over our summer break. I was a broadcast journalism major and the producers needed a TV studio of some kind, so they overhauled our news studio (at a cost of $1 million) for the film, and left it for us to enjoy after they'd finished shooting. Quite a nice gift!

I just opened for Kreskin in Orlando, he is 98 percent like The Great Buck Howard and at 78 years old his show is still amazing

If you just opened for Kreskin in Orlando does that mean he's done in Vegas?
