Hi,
I would like to add to this post and just mention that the pad is AMAZING. Does a have few minor kinks that are very easy to manage but on the whole it is an amazing device. The after care service is second to none and I have had nothing but amazing support from Hugo him self. I text him the other and I has a reply with 15 minutes..... The fact that he is also based in the UK is a massive bonus too. The features and functionality are second to none and anyone who is thinking of buying one I would highly recommend spending the money you will not regret it. I would add that is anyone was silly enough to sit or put it some where where it may become vulnerable then just don't !!! SIMPLES. I take my hat of to you Mr Shelly on an amazing product and a quality after care service. Mark Peace Magician |

I've heard and Murphy's Law says it if it can go wrong it WILL go wrong, and often times when your life depends upon it. I've heard with ALL electronic impression devices that this happens more often than people think. Of course it looks Miraculous when it works, but are you willing to risk your reputation for the one time (again usually the worst time) it fails on you? How do you "Plan B" it? Do you pull out another pad and say "here my electronic state of the art pad isn't working do you mind writing the same thing here?" OF COURSE NOT. Even "The King" of Impression Devices John Riggs, doesn't care for this new electronic stuff out there. (By this I'm NOT talking about Shelley's 6th Sense as I PERSONALLY would like that), but I'm talking about Electronic Pads. Sure it helps the illusion to get a miss but to me in a D.D. that's like so final, whereas in getting one out of 6 wrong in guessing where the marble is, is more realistic. I'm NOT a Agent for John Riggs though he is a Top Favorite Mentalist of mine as is Osterlind, Banachek, Cassidy ... etc. but just learn to PROPERLY use a Brown Hornet, Butterfly, Parapad, or the Big Parapad, and all your needs as a Mentalist WILL be most certainly met. Just IMHO.
God Bless, Ed

Great post Ed. Yes you do need a Plan B, but luckily I haven't had to use it yet. One of major benefits I have found using the Mind Pad is for multiple revelations - indeed I perform a Cluedo routine both in close up and on stage which in terms of cleanness I believe couldn't be beaten using other impression devices IMO. Three selections written on separate pieces of paper, with you nowhere near the pad is as good as it gets for me! For a single peek, then I prefer to use business card peek rather than another IMP pad. But hey, live and let live.
I guess with all electronic devices there is a chance of failure. For me though, it's worth the risk.
Magically,

Same thing can be said about an impression pad. You never know, it might not be clear, it might not work

And CT if spectator doesn't write where you want/need... AND I have seen a magician fail with a cross cut force in performance (which happened to be a competition too!).
