Just curious.
King Diamond is a metal band (headed by King Diamond, who also heads Mercyful fate), that puts out dark story albums. The man King Diamond has a very strong character and Dark themes. When I was younger I had an album called voodoo, the individual songs were great but the story from beginning is a story of encountering secret voodoo practitioners. He's basically a bizarre practitioner who doesn't performer magic. Here's a song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uMLwSB1EzE&feature=related

Been a big fan since the release of 'Them' in 1988. That has a fantastic story to it. I really like his concept albums he produces.

Right on, I knew some one else here had to be a fan. It seems to me that there is something for the bizarrist to learn with his albums.
...I haven't heard "Them," but I'll try to get a copy soon. Thanks.

I think it has relevance to bizzare magick too. I don't listen to much anymore, but I occasionally turn on King Diamond, Mercyful fate and Venom. Also the Electric Hellfire Club, which is an industrial/pop/glam band and Einherjar, which is Viking metal. That's all I still have I think. For me, bands like King Diamond and Mercyful fate and Einherjar and Unleashed tell wonderful stories and paint pictures. This of course is great for a bizarrist; also, or course black metal is overtly occult and satanic, which is not necessary for bizarre, but fun nonetheless. For example, this is one of my favorite Mercyful Fate songs. I like this style of music and I like the picture he paints (lyrics included for those who cannot understand metal singing ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqcOVzx4CqY&feature=related Posted: Nov 16, 2010 3:35am This is another good Mercyful fate, more story than the above but also centered around a witches sabbath (this has no lyrics printed, but is actually a music video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yFCwDU3bw4&feature=related edit: haha, I was thinking whether or not to post "Hero of the land" by Unleashed, but that lead me to "working man" by rush ...and now I'm listening to 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton. Love it!

I have a few Merciful Fate records still kicking around. I still listen to Abigail from time to time, but not been so fussed with the more recent. I got sent Give me your soul to review back when it came out and can't say it did much for me.

Hail fellow King Fans,
I am trying to do some King Diamond inspired music mixed with bizarre magic. I have actually met King a couple of times and his health is not too good right now, so sadly we fans won’t be able to see him for some time. I sing like him on some songs and want to add a theatrical bizarre magic approach. I am currently doing bizarre magic at http://www.thehauntedcottage.com/ but would like to combine both at some point, would love to send some samples of my tunes upon request. I love King and am trying to inspire the younger generation to experience some true classically inspired metal. Live Long and Prosper! D.
