The beginning of this post is a little tough, but I promise the ending is a lighter read.
If religion or spirituality offends you, stop reading here. I'm writing this to request prayers for a friend of mine who was diagnosed with the big "C" about 4 months ago. Cancer was all over his body except for his bones and marrow. (Lymphoma). He was without insurance and had started a new job about 3 weeks prior to the diagnosis. He was hired as a consultant or temp. Here are a few of the miracles I have witnessed. His insurance kicked in two weeks after his diagnosis and he's covered. His boss at the agency and at the client he was hired by said they would stand behind him all the way. The main honcho gave him his home phone number and told him to call if he needed anything. He is allowed to come and go as needed. They hooked him up to their computer network so he can work from home when he needs to which is most of the time. There's more, but I'll stop there. My response was to get on the internet and request prayers for him. I believe in the power of prayer. His cancer is down to less than a centimeter. Please pray for him as he enters these last (hopefully) six weeks of chemo. I don't care what religion or whatever you worship, please pray. Many thanks. Peter |

Though I am not as religous as I should be, you can be assured I will be thinking of him and hoping that whatever God he believes in will help him through such a life changeing experience and assist on his way to full recovery.

Genus,
Not to worry. "God, say "Hi" to Brett", is a great prayer. Philemon, I have a little Buddha statue in a recess, near my dash. Thanks. Peter |

May God's healing hands cradle Brett in Love, giving him Peace, protecting and renewing his body, and encouraging him deep within his heart!

Thanks, BroDavid.
I sent this page over to Brett and will let you know what he says. I'm sure he'll laugh and also be very moved. How could he not be moved? The laughter will be for my activity soliciting so many prayers for him from some rather diverse groups - computer people, magicians etc. I can't tell you all that I get out of the deal. Thanks, Peter |

Ok, I think he's more moved than amused:
Peter, Thank you so much! It never ceases to amaze me how gentile, thoughtful, and selfless so many people are that I've had the privilege to know of....even so little as to only know their handle on a BBS. I am very thankful/grateful for all of the prayers/positive energy that has been sent my way. I have my understanding of God and the universe, and I feel humbled, honored, and priveleged to be given this "second chance" with life. I just hope that I am able to return the gesture one day to God, the Universe, to all of them, and to you. Brett |
