Note: The plane that crashed into pennsylvania where the passengers did fight back was a different story comletely. They became aware of the planes that hit the WTC and that is what triggered them to respond. By the time they did realize they had to fight back the peace loving terrorist had already taken over the cockpit and murdered the pilots as well as a stewardess. Today if you looked funny at the passengers there are a few on the planes that will go after you. The shoe guy and undie guy were both supressed by passengers.

Eh yes and no santa. I see your point and I was going to bring up the fact that by the time they tried to do anything it was fruitless. But still who knows there could be another such incident where even a dead flight crew or two wouldn't mean that the passengers couldn't stop it and someone could still fly the plane to safety. But yes unfortunately the passengers did know of the previous planes being taken over when it was already too late. You are more correct then I am there.
I'm just saying that not all attempts by passengers would work. Or will for that matter. |

Yeah....they are going overboard. Invest the money in some profilers and some more air marshalls. I don't think there are loads of peace lovers waiting to blow up planes....they are having a good time blowing themselves up at their home country.

Gdw in the post of yours I mentioned from yesterday. You did say that the T.S.A. hadn't stopped the shoe bomber etc... If you had known that flight and the so named underwear bomber's flights had not originated in the U.S. you would have had no reason to make such a comment. I don't see how anyone could not remember/know that neither of those attempts had not originated in the U.S.

Hit them in the pocket book if they refuse. But then again or Government is too wimpy to do that. |

Im with RS on this one. There would be ways to hijack the plane, even though now people are more aware of the situation. Box cutters? Put your car keys between your fingers-equal. We feel safe with all the stuff.
The shoe guy might not have brought down the plane had he been able to detonate, but he would have opened the cockpit door. With money, and commitment it is possible.

On that Pennsylvania flight. The passengers did manage to get into the cockpit after killing or disabling the ones outside the door. They were fighting the ones behind the wheel when it went down so they were just a minute off from taking back the plane.

They're not preventing potential threats? I wasn't aware we could see into the future. Just because it hasn't happened today, doesn't mean it couldn't happen tomorrow.

Maybe we should be saying that the security measures are only prolonging the time between now and the next attack? I don't know maybe that is the unknown bone of contention the wording. Or part of it. |

Well it sure hasn't made the time between attacks any shorter now has it? Therefore It's done one of ONLY two things. Either it as prevented attacks "so far" Or it has prolonged the time between 9/11 and the next one. Take your pick either one of THOSE TWO are correct. |

Stupid comparison. If in fact a terrorist got onto a flight where he could have been caught with proper security, you can be certain this guy would have been ranting at the "lax liberals" in office not taking security seriously.
