Great question Mr Samuels
I don't have an answer I'm afraid as I can't remember anything significant present-wise. But I do think it's a great question to ask a spectator prior to a revelation. Or was that you're intention in the first place? Steve |

If you want most treasured christmas gift, mine was when I was 10, dad worked for Fords motor company back then, and around those times there were always strikes - we had absolutely zero money that year, nearly lost the house and neither me or my brother were expecting a visit from santa...
and true enough, santa didn't turn up that year - but dad did, with two Matchbox cars and a Spiderman comic...and those three things I still have...

When was five I wished for a magic kit. I got one. And I was really disappointed that I could not turn my grandmother into a mouse by waving the plastic magic wand that came with it.
I wished for another when I was six and then slowly started to realize the terrible truth... Best, Lexa |

I was about 3 yrs old and my sisters and I received a sled. What makes this memorable was our Dad gave us a sled ride to Grandmas (about a mile to mile and a half trek from home to there) on Christmas night. The cold ride, the warmth of Grandmas house, and the smell of fresh backed cinnimon rolls and hot chocolate... these combined are the memory I have. Now, when I smell cinnimon rolls, it is almost as if Grandma is giving me a hug.

I'm going to have to go with Funsway's answer as my answer, too.
But, if I really had to be pinned down to give a certain item, I'll say that the Captain Action doll or the Creepy Crawlers ThingMaker made memorable impressions. I must have been around 7-8 years old. |

Fanner-Fifty; (Mattel, I think) it was a realistic looking cowboy's style all metal cap pistol with plastic faked stag grips and a nice realistic tanned leather belt with realistic looking bullets in it. The key was you could do a quick draw and fan the hammer to shoot it, just like the cowboys did in the fifties TV westerns. I got it. Wish I still had it today; it'd be worth a small fortune.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

I should have prefaced this by indicating "if you celebrated Christmas as a child."
If not, the question of "what 'thing' did you wish or dream for, as a kid," certainly still applies. As for the purpose of the question; While I can't get into the specifics of the routine, as it is a shared idea, I will say that I'm looking for a range of common answers in order to anticipate how people might respond. Sorry to be so vague. e |

Thanks to all those who took the time to answer.
In case you're interested, between The Café, Facebook and Surveymonkey, "BICYCLE," was by far the most common answer, with nearly a 20% response rate. Nothing else exceeded 5%. Cheers! e |
