I use 2 small, spring-loaded clips (hair clips, I suppose) that I previously attach to my case. It is a quick and easy matter for me to properly hang the flag (remember that the union, or field of stars should always be to the observer's left).
When using a larger American flag it is always a closer. The production of the large flag is the finale to my closing routine, after which I place the flag into a red, white & blue "Uncle Sam hat". I then "reproduce" the large flag on a flagstaff. I then either walk offstage carrying the flag, or if that's not possible I mount the flag pole onto a table. I think the key is treating the flag with the respect it deserves. The audience will know if you are genuine or not. I am a patriotic person, and I try to treat the flag with as much respect as possible.

Regan,
That is a great pointer. There are many "magic props" hidden away in the hair accessories section of stores. For years, my fancy clip for holding a silk on my belt was the simple Bobbie Pin! Bob PS --- It works great for cards too! |

Another good "hanger" for items produced on stage is actually a lady's suit coat hanger!
Of course the hook can be hooked on anything and the two pinch clamps can hold silks, signs, cards, rope, stuffed animals, or other items you produce or use in your show. For looks they range from plain ole plastic to some really nice looking ones. Give it a try! |
