Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

I can empathize with the last woman's comment.
About 20 years ago, when our kids were quite young (7, 5, & 3), we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant. The two older ones - the boys - couldn't stop pestering each other. We told them that if they didn't behave properly, we would leave: nobody else at the restaurant came there to listen to noisy kids. Apparently, they didn't believe us. When the food arrived at the table, we told the waiter to box it up and bring the check: we were leaving. The silence on the ride home was palpable. Our daughter - now almost 24 - still remembers it. Vividly. |

No kids rock! I see gets get out of line at restaurants and it shocks me. When I was a kid there was five of us with in six years of age and let met tell you, we behaved because we were convinced my father would kill us (he never ever raised a hand to us...oddly we KNEW he was ready to). My nieces and nephews all behave when my dad is with them, they are also scared of him! Must be the accent.
