Hello friends.
I wonder if anyone knows the name of the grand illusion that is a pyramid Where a person is placed inside this pyramid and then was suspended by a rope. After the pyramid is shown empty and the person appears in the audience. The many years ago I saw this illusion live performance by Pendragons. More can not find any video on the internet or any store that sells. Could anyone give me the name of this illusion or video that is on the internet? Thanks Andrély Sorry my poor english |

The original version of this was first performed by Doug Henning in about 1985-6 or so. I have a curious connection with the origination of this effect...

When it comes to Pendragons no act can ever be considered "not much". Their stage presence, energy and charisma, they all build up to a great finale. The mechanics of the effect can be simple, but in their hands it turns out plain magical.

Do not attempt to adjust your screen... we will control the vertical... we will control the horizontal. That's all I can remember from the opening monologue to the Outer Limits, which I always thought was cool.
This is Jonathan Pendragon. I apologize for the lack of an accurate screen name; I'm actually signing in with West's account because I've forgotten my password. I should have changed it to something I could remember, but unfortunately I left it an unintelligible series of numbers and letters. The illusion that I presented on Best of Magic WAS Doug Henning's prop. I bought it at the auction... no, not that one... the other one. It was designed by Jim Steinmeyer, and Doug used it as a closer during the last year he toured. In all deference to a previous poster, it is a brilliant design that looked incredibly thin even under bright light and a well-lit backdrop. The only modification I made was to eliminate the four drop-down sides in order to accommodate the flash paper I used in the vanish of Charlotte. When I presented it at Universal Studios, there were too many shows for the constant use of flash paper, so I had the four sides made of a cloth brocade that I could rip off the prop. Normally Charlotte reappeared in my Fire Cage, but for The Best of Magic, John Fisher asked if she could be reproduced on the camera crane. So we opened the Fire Basket sequence with the Cage. Eventually we sold the illusion to Chip Romero, who is an avid collector of Doug Henning's props. It served me well for many years and, as always, I am indebted to Jim's designs. Jonathan Pendragon |
