The shark is a utility gimmick, and can be used with only some cards, because the rel magic happens when you have the (3) cards in your hand. check out the demo on magic geek. it was created by chris ballinger anyways

I have also Shark and it's great. It really shows Magic! It's a strong effect, but it weak because you use a gimmick card. So two gimmickcards are better and using for two decks. People can't beleave there eyes and want to show it again (with gimmick 2). Specially the White Shark, with blanc cards, are onbeleaveble!
Disadvantage of Shark: I want to buy the Shark Reload (for the second card), but the reloads are not vailible. You can't order the reload because Magic geek/C.Ballinger haven't make te it. That's for me real &$%#! IF somebody knows why or know when its vailible! Tel me! By the way 'Switchblade' looks like the same effect. What is the difference between Switchblade and Shark???! Not sure, but a lot of people say they like switchblade more because you end "cleaner or something like that"

I have both. Switchblade is a superior trick and more useful gimmick.

If is see the video of switchblade, I 'm thinking you are right. But all video's look 'perfect!
I have shark and a wantn't use 2 differents (looks like the same) cardtrick. It will be confusing for me. I have made a choice (a half year ago) and wantn't change my choice now!!! Maybe I'm a little jealous of you! ) But I want a seccond card to make the effect stronger. Do you need te same? People wants allway see a effect twice en with two cards isn't a problem. (If I get finally a reload!!) That's my basic idea! |

Its funny because I got the opportunity to see the reveal of the shark, so I decided to make one myself, I have never seen switchblade though and you are probably right

It's great if you can make the gimmick for your own! Isn't that hard and difficult? How have you done that? You have to cut a little in the back, how?
I'm waiting still for de reloaded. I have red that half Marche they can delever again (Penquin Magic). Grtz, Jac |

I had Switchblade, and sold it. Recently received The Shark, and actually prefer it to Switchblade.
Of course, the reason is not whether one is better than the other, but because what I prefer to do is better accomplished by Shark. It is all relative, isn't it? For example, I have always loved the effects created by some of Mark Mason's card tricks such as Twenty-One and Royal Flash that, unfortunately, use a gimmick that must be replaced fairly often. Shark allows me to do the same type of effect in a cleaner manner with no worries about the gimmick. Of course, Switchblade is not designed to do this similarly, though the gaffs seem somewhat similar. Best to get both, then discover which will best do what one wants to do.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
