Funny! Sleight of hand is not enough for this trick. You need to be skilled with you legs as well.

Interesting. Does anyone know if there is any literature on sleight of foot I could consult? This could give another option for palming for people who consider their hands too small to be able to do it successfully.

I was impressed with Max Maven's ability to speak Japanese.
I laughed out loud at the thought of how lame I would look revealing a card like this. |

I was not surprised. When was that video from? Recently or a few years ago. Thanks for posting it. |

The whole sleight of foot premise is pretty old. I forget who's credited with the concept, but you can find it in many basic beginners' books.

I'm pretty sure this specific trick is John Kennedy's. Not sure if he created the entire "sleight-of-foot" concept, but I wouldn't put it past him. At some point, I guess the idea has something to do with Houdini, since he wrote about picking locks with one's toes. The best source on this subject would, of course, be Ricky Jay.

I know for a fact that it was in the Magic for Dummies book, and I believe he gives proper crediting there. It's definitely much older than John Kennedy.
The concept, that is. |

In fact, in one of his films (The Grim Game?) he opens a lock with his toes. He also writes about spirit mediums ringing bells by wearing a toeless sock and a fake shoe. The sitters would place their feet on the toe of the shoe to make sure the feet were stationary - then the bell would still ring. |

I see nobody has mentioned who Jonathan's rather well known female assistant is. Hint--she was on the cover of Magic magazine last October.
