Hey everyone... I recently finished a website specifically designed to target shows in my hometown of Wichita, KS (although I live about a 7 hour drive away in Denver) and thought I would get some feedback before I have the final finishing touches put on it. Any feedback positive or negative would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Keir

I like it. The flash seem to load slowly but that may be my connection, I'm not sure, but I like it. I always just quickly glace at it when asked for an opinion, as that's what most potential customers will do often only giving you seconds to form their initial opinion. At a glace I like it, but I will look more closely at it and let you know if I see anything differently. Good job!

Just FYI
your demo video and corporate video is the same.

You need less testimonials and more video of you in action. then again assuming you have a demo video I will wait till I see that

looks good

Keir, I very much like the fact you have lots of videos and
testimonials. I like that you include the actual letters -
that's a very good idea and a nice touch.

The photos I like the best show you before happy audiences.
I found those on the Comedy Hypnosis & Close Up pages. If
you could add more of those to the other pages that would
be great.

I think the best on the Hypnosis page is the one with
the audience members in chairs with yellow cups or
something over their ears - this image gets across
exactly what you'd want from a comedy hypnosis show.

A couple things in my opinion:

-- I find white text on a black background very
very hard to read. It makes reading work and
that's something you don't want.

-- The Flash Image Carousel really adds nothing in my
opinion. It takes a while to load and then it's
just a montage of a very limited set of images.
You and your assistant are both good-looking and
that's definitely a positive.

Suggest you find a way to turn these two testimonial
quotes into headlines somewhere on your site:

"We can't wait to book you again!"

"Hilarious, everyone loved it!!!"

These are two core messages you absolutely want to
convey throughout - these are great and right now
they're kind of buried. If you're going to have
the flash carousel, I would put these quotes there
instead of / in addition to your pictures. And if
you're going to update the carousel, put in happy
customers as well... because that's what I want
to achieve as the event planner - a room full of
happy people.

Keir,
The site looks good. The photos exude fun.

If I had one critique it would be the flash. I personally would not use flash or possibly have your site designed to recognize the browser/smart phone being used to view the site..and have a mobile version.

Again, it looks great. Hope our paths cross sometime in Wichita. We are there often.

Thanks to everyone so far... I have not taken the time to review every comment yet but will take it all under serious consideration. To address Sam's comment specifically though, thank you very much for pointing that out the duplicate video as that is a glitch. The main demo video should be up soon as I just emailed my webmaster on it. And yeah there is a lot of actual performance on that video Sam.

Kevin, I completely agree with you and think ultimately we will get the site more flash friendly as we have with my other sites. http://www.DenverKidMagic.com and http://www.LifeIsMagical.com Both of those sites have flash for home computers/laptops and underlying images for ipad/smart phones.

I will post here again Sam when the new video is up...

Soounds good Keir.

I too would agree the flash is some thing to stay away from, I am also in the process of designing a whole new site so I understand the time and energy going into this type of work

over all I felt it was a good site glad you trust your Café family to critique you. not sure I am gonna put mine up for that I am a baby when it comes to constructive critisim LOL

Your demo video is well done -- but needs to be much punchier.

Start with the segment of you and the woman cutting the rope. The narrator sounds really stiff...and I think your intro to the rope segment really detracts from its effectiveness. I can see what you do. I can see how you do it -- and the way you interact with the volunteer. You don't need to tell me this.

I also think the video takes far too long to get to the point. Most of the corporate clients I know won't wait that long unless they are really interested in you.

Great well done site, though. Loads quickly -- makes your point clearly...great work.

Thanks again to everyone who has posted. David your critique of the video is well taken and I will keep all that in mind on the next one. Talked with my web guy today about getting some images behind the flash so that it can stay on the site (for home computers) and have a static image behind it for ipads/phones.

Best regards to all...

Hi Keir,
I don't think you are going to like what I'm about to say but here goes...

The site is ok, it's competant but nothing else.
It has no spark or character.
You have some great photos which are not utilized at all.
Also the use of flash which has been discussed else where on the Café is not generally a good idea,
also personally I find the animation and noise irritating.
The site is too dark, all greys and blues, could do with an accent colour.

I'd love to get my hands on some of the photos you have, you could get a really kick ass site.

I am not sure that "most funniest" is grammatically correct. Sounds strange/

Starrpower, I agree with you and thanks for pointing that out.

Ade, I would not say that I "don't like what you have to say" at all. I work on a three strikes policy, if one person says something about my site that needs changing I "put it on my radar", if two people make reference to it I start asking for more opinions, and if a third mentions it then I stop asking questions and start making changes. So in effect you have "put a few more things on my radar" so to speak. Thus I will thank you and everyone else for their thoughts as they truly are appreciated.

Best regards,

Keir
