Even if the effect shows that you can manipulate cards - rather than being a prediction - I don't think it matters that much to laymen. It still is eye candy and impresses the spectator just the same. It made me chuckle - it was so much fun to watch. If we want to affect our audience, who knows that magic is not real, then this one works. Nice work!

Vinny,

I like the effect just as it was performed. (i.e., http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17Jj-69B76Y )

I think that sometimes we get too fixated as to what we as a magician might see or previously know. Trying to look at the effect through the eyes of a layman, I think that laymen will be gobsmacked.

Thanks for sharing.

Just, IMHO. Your mileage may vary...and probably does. (grin)

Best.

Mike

I will be learning this over the next couple of weeks (Vinny was kind enough to share this with me), and then I will perform it for lay audiences. That will be the test for me; how lay people react. Personally, I think it is a fantastic packet trick. I think that there is a bit of "over proving", but that can be fixed. I think it gives more punch than the original 8 Card Brainwave. Smile

Yes, it gives more punch but less can sometimes be more depending on your end game. It's no longer a prediction, so doesn't take the original effect any further, it negates the impact by showing the card backs can be changed at will. However, as a fun color changing card routine I'm sure it works very well. Some nice sequences, Vinny.

This is genuinely superb, the counts are terrific and could have so many more applications.

I enjoyed it. I believe it will work in the real world. Make it as short or as long as one wishes.
Not clever enough to come up with something orginal, or did I.

I like this! I think I would stop after I turned all of the cards blue. But, as others have said, there are some great displays in there.

Vinny, a while ago I had a chance to watch Lennart Green's video in which he too had a brainwave effect involving the Swede and Mirror Counts. Are you able to clarify what it is that is different in your routine here?
