Good Evening Everyone...
I learned of this routine on February 3rd when I read about it here in the Little Darlings Forum. Truth be told, this is usually not the type of thing that I like. My family show is polar opposite from many of you I would imagine as I purposely stray away from this type of material. Yet, I was compelled to watch the demo and I was very intrigued by what I saw. My first thought was it reminded me a little of Copperfield's "The Graffiti Wall," and I like that aspect of it. Maybe that's just me. I also thought it was a very clever and well thought out routine. I also don't subscribe to buying the latest piece of shiny that's out on the market. So the fact that I shelled out the coin for this routine says quite a bit. I ordered this from Ken on Monday and I got it in the mail today. VERY FAST and great Customer Service. The routine comes professionally packaged in a very nice presentation. I plan to use the provided box to transport this to and from the gig. The box is high quality and will take a bit of a beating. I opened up the box and inspected it's contents. Here's what you get: 1. A Force Shopping Bag w/written instructions on how to use it. 2. 6 Diamond Cut Silks...I would guess 24" but I could be wrong...Black, Purple, Yellow, Green, and 2 Reds 3. The Blendo Bag 4. 8 Picture Cards. Only 4 are used, but I would guess that Ken supplies extra in case they get dirty or damaged. 5. A regular deck of Red Backed Bicycle Playing Cards and a Force Deck of Bicycle Playing Cards. 6. A CD containing both Audio Files that you can use for the routine along with PDF Instructions on how to perform it. 7. A DVD providing step by step instructions on how to perform it. Here are my thoughts on each of the above: 1. The Force Shopping Bag comes professionally packaged and is well made. 2. The Diamond Cut Silks you receive are your standard fare, each individually packaged and of good quality. 3. The Blendo Bag was a really nice surprise. The video Ken posted doesn't do it justice. It's quite large and is extremely vibrant with contrasting colors and beautiful artwork. This bag is extremely well made and from what I can tell..will last a lifetime. I pulled on this thing quite a bit and the seams held up, no snags or loose fibers. NOT THE CASE with other silk products I had ordered in the past. I can tell that Ken shelled out some bucks for this Blendo to be of the highest quality. It's made to last! 4. The 8 picture cards are very well made of thick stock with a bit of laminate on them. I took the liberty of scanning these cards in high rez HD and have them saved on my computer just in case something happens and I need to replace them. I can easily print them out and have them laminated. They wouldn't be of the same quality, but in a bind, I'd be safe. Still...the provided cards also appear to be made to last a long time. 5. Playing Cards. Any questions...? 6. The CD comes with 2 files. One is an MP3 of the song suggested by Ken Scott. The other are the written instructions on how to perform the routine. The instructions are very well put together and are in PDF format. I didn't like the music very much at all and will either not use music or select music that better fits me. It just didn't fit my style at all. It's about a 12 minute track that seems to just repeat itself over and over again. However, the good thing about this track for those who wish to use it is it won't distract the audience from the routine. 7. The DVD that comes with the set is a simple home made DVD. No glitz and glamour which I care very little about in something like this. The DVD runs just over 23 minutes long. Ken and Tim do a great job of explaining how to perform this routine and they do it very well. This is very easy to perform. I read thru the instructions and then watched the DVD. I immediately went down and tried it out on my 4 year old daughter and all worked as it was supposed to. Willow got a real kick out of it and was all smiles and giggles. To me, that tells me this is a real winner b/c like me...she's hard to impress! I won't be using either routine that Ken or Tim teach nor will I use the music as I'll routine it to fit me and my personality. So on a scale of 1-10, I give this an 11...and an 11 from me is HUGH b/c I'm an over critical jerk about pretty much everything. The fact that I'm taking time on my Friday Evening while home sick in bed missing my restaurant gig this evening to write this review should also tell you how impressed I was with it. It's an investment that's for sure. But it's one that I'm quite happy with. It brought a smile to me and I can't wait for to bring many smiles to the younglings that I get to perform for. Thanks to Ken Scott and Tim Sonefelt for putting out such a great quality product for all of us magi in the trenches. We are better for it and I tip my hat to you both! Christopher Lyle

Ken and Tim are two of the finest resources kid show performers have. Thank you for this review now I know to add it to my list of must haves.

I think people will like it, they will think it's cute and clever. I just don't think it gets a big enough reaction. The finale takes too long to explain.

Hope you don't mind me tagging on some comments on this a review. I just used this , this weekend for family shows I had. First 2 times doing it live, and the responses I got each time were:
1."WHOA!" when the bag pops open 2.applause when I point out the silk and the bunny choices match 3. I then do a t/r card part, that gets another round of applause, and then a final one for the assistant for the great job they did. The routine I developed ran around 7 minutes.I was doing a bunch of shorter shows(20 minute sets, and boldly closed with this, and it so worked as I had hoped. |

Hey I think its a good effect, but if I was selling this I would have filmed the routine about 20 times and then picked the best reaction to post as a demo. I'm assuming this was the best reaction he got. That said, I like the effect. |

Saw this routine performed on the "Creativity @ Sea" cruise. Yes, Ken & Tim do wonderful work. On my wish list too.

Ken admits this in another thread but stated (for whatever reason) he was short on time and only had the one shot at it. Not sure what type of response you're expecting here but I don't see anyone jumping up and screaming as they call you the devil and run the for door. It's a great routine that I think will get a GREAT RESPONSE. Did Ken? Not for this one shoot. I've gotten standing ovations at some shows and have gotten polite applause at others...for the exact same show. That doesn't mean the material I perform or my entertainment abilities are lousy. It just means that sometimes you get a great audience and others times...not. Granted, I have yet to perform this in a LIVE! setting yet, "tho I could have" but I'm close to completing my scripting and routine with it. Can't wait to try it out. Christopher
