abc Inner circle South African in Taiwan 1081 Posts	Posted: Feb 19, 2011 06:48 am 0 Starts today...any followers? Hopefully Canada can cause a few upsets. They have a few big hitters but seriously lack any relevant experience. I hope this is the one South Africa finally comes good on.

Most exciting 100 I ever saw was Davison (the Canadian opener) in the world cup 12 years ago. Hopefully someone can help Canada pull of a nice vistory or two this time round.

Canada's fast bowlers used the overcast conditions to perfection when they dismissed Pakistan for 184 in 43 overs before the North Americans fell to Afridi's medium pace-like legspinners and were shot out for 138 in the Group A match. Jimmy Hansara (43) had provided Canada a chance of a shock victory and shared a 60-run fourth wicket stand with Zubin Surkari (27). But Afridi, wanting to make amends for his surprise decision to bat first, rattled the middle-order with four wickets off 17 balls and also ran out Balaji Rao. I think it means that Pakistan beat Canada but not as badly as expected. The rest is pretty hard to translate into Canadian. Can anyone help? abc Inner circle South African in Taiwan 1081 Posts	Posted: Mar 3, 2011 11:13 pm 0 Canada almost pulled of a miracle victory. They needed one batsmen to perform well but just at things looked allright, the Pakistani captain ended it. Was an OK match.

For those who believe Canada is full of pasty white people check out their cricket team....I'm wondering if all of them have actually been to Canada. I think it is just their attempt to trying to remain part of the United Kingdoms colonies. Go Ireland! Yeah Australia! Rock on India! Nuke 'em Pakistan! Oops....shouldn't have used that last cheer.

When I was a kid, there was one park in Calgary where you could see cricket all summer. Almost all of the players then were either British or West Indian ex-patriots. If you stumble across a cricket game today, you're more likely to see Indian and Pakistani ex-pats or their children. As far as I can understand the reporting, it looks like Canada is in the middle of a game with Kenya and has some sort of chance...
