Can a powdercoat anodized process create the look of "real glass" vrs a paint job? What if the
painting was coated with a "diamond finish" varnish?

I know.. I've wanted this system for a long time.. they have a brown "candy' that actually looks quite a bit like glass.. but it's not on the website anymore..
I ALMOST imported unfinished overseas multiplying bottles.. but finally figured that after importing.. powder coating in chrome and then candy coating.. ..and everything that goes with selling them.. they would end up quite expensive.. |

They'd still be hard to beat those recent ones coming from Japan. I think Hocus Pocus was carrying them?

The guy who first announced them here was talking a price around a grand, but then a US dealer got involved. Up go the prices.

Postage and tarriffs drive the price up as well. Hocus-Pocus was not necessarily making $500 on a sale.
wkitwizard, to answer your question, paint vs. anadize, the answer is price. Even if you can find a local company, they would have to stop production, just for your 8 or 9 bottles. That is an expensive process. Looking at all the examples of members painting their bottles, there is nothing wrong with what they have posted so far. To give a shine to the bottle just put a clear coat on top, or put multiple coats of paint on while sanding between coats. The more level the paint the more shine produced. |

Just a quick note: anodizing is a process that is specific to non-ferrous metals like aluminum, titanium, niobium, etc. The non-conductive property of glass makes anodizing impossible.

What brand of paint would you suggest? Does the clear cote give the appearance of "glass"?
Thanks

Anodizing would be impossible.. but you can Powdercoat anything that can stand to be baked to 415 degrees F, so glass would be OK

Used Krylon outdoor/indoor enamel for good-looking results.
