I have been going to the Castle now for about 8 months I have seen some amazing magic and not so great magic. Last night I go there to see Steve Valentin show before that I end up seeing T. Lenert, R.Zabrecky and A.James show. Way too funny! The Palace was in laughter and I was like WoW! I can't stop laughing! Then we end up seeing J.Carney and he was awesome! the Parlour was off the charts! Then we end up in the Close-up gallery and that is where it all happened! Steve was off the CHAIN! He not only blew my mind and I know him and his work I was like is he possessed? lol The guy is just the BEST I have ever seen at the Castle! This week will probably be the BEST week so this year, if you can go get you butt there! Not only that Max Maven will be there along with this crowd this weekend. I can't wait to go again! My hat's off to these performers they just create MAGIC!

I'm going tomorrow night. Can't wait. Thanks for the enthusiastic post!
I have also found it to be hit or miss depending on the night. Some nights are fantastic, and some nights are, well, just not. I have seen a few people performing there that honestly shouldn't have been, frankly, and that's a shame. On the other hand, when it's great, it's really great! I can't wait to see John Carney perform! |

Carney was great! He is very talented. I'm telling you it is probably the best week ever. Friday Max Maven will be there and I can not wait to see him.

I did not know that you could find "Not So Great Magic" at the Magic Castle. Maybe I do have a shot at performing there someday.

I've been going to the Castle about once a year for the past 5 or 6 and it's always a night to remember. I just love to actually see the guys, and gals, that you here about and be able to be right there watching them, instead of thru the tele or computer. I'm a big fan of Eric Jones, and my most recent visit to the Castle, I met him after his show (which was outstanding btw) and exchanged info, that's one of the best parts, the performers are so cordial. They don't disappear after the shows like actors on Broadway, they just come out to the bar and have a drink and talk to people. If you ever get the chance, GO!!! If you know someone who is a member, you simply must get them to invite you.
Cheers, Fred Iven- I hear ya, maybe there's still hope for us! =p

Funkytek- Eric's dvd Metal is definitely worth having if you don't already. After you master it, 'Audio' and 'Mirage et Trois' are a couple of fantastic routines. All the best to you!

Funkytek, I was at the Eric Jones lecture at the Magic Apple too! I agree... he was great, and he was a very nice guy too.
Last night at the Castle, Rob Zabrecki was really funny and enjoyable to watch, as were Tina Lenert and A. James. Both John Carney and Mike Caveney were great to see as well. I didn't make it to see Steve Valentine in the Close Up room, as my friends and I never made the cut-off for the line. I really wanted to see him perform. Oh well. Next time I suppose. |
