Hey guys... I don't usually ( or have ever) post here but I would really like to learn a thing or two from you guys. I'm a big fan of coin magic and I usually just fiddle with a coin or two . For my closeup gigs, I usually stick to cards and other stuff but I've been thinking about moving into coins as well. Was scrolling through the Schoolcraft site only to realize I don't quite understand many terminologies. Could someone care to share what these abbreviations mean? Along with a short description of the effect?
3CF- 3 coin fly? 3CM ?? OXF ?? SuperFly - Seen the video, I get this... but how does it differ from the 3CF? Deans Set ?? 2copper 1 silver ?? All help is Greatly appreciated! I ultimately aim to present something that's visual, like the 3fly, and interactive, like the copper silver brass routine. |

None of these are routines, but are instead gaffed coins or coin sets. However if you haven't worked with coins much you are much better off learning some basic coin manipulation first. It would be next to impossible to use the gaffs effectively without some coin work, and as you have probably noticed they are quite expensive!

Hi Jim! Thanks for commenting. Well, I do have a good understanding of many various coin sleights. I also do understand that the coins are Gaffs. What seems unclear to me is, what those coins do? What routines are they used for?

Unfortunately, to answer your question properly on most of those acronyms would almost certainly involve exposure on a public thread or would require so many **'s or symbols, it probably wouldn't help you anyway.
In addition, for all except 2 Copper 1 Silver, the names of these superb gaffs are purposefully obfuscational to keep the workings known to the least number possible. If you have a real need to know, I suggest you contact someone like TC Ryder here on the Café, who deals in all of the above sets and is a nice guy. You can find an explanation for 2 Copper 1 Silver in Bobo's New Modern Coin Magic, p.442. Regards, Alan |

http://www.coingaffs.com have all the relevant descriptions on the site I think.
I live in England and personally rang Jamie in the US and he was awesome, gave me so much advice and info on what I should be getting from where I am in magic right now! His personal customer service has definitely led me to order through him! |
