Hey there
I thought I'd share something that I was working on in another thread here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......m=190&46 This is a link to my 3 Shell Boot Camp diary where I posted daily about my progress with Bob Sheets/Glenn Morphew's 3 Shell Boot Camp DVD. As part of my diary project I promised to post a video of my first public performance... here it is: http://www.vimeo.com/21248206 This is a work-in-progress and although presented as a stand-alone demonstration here it is actually part of a larger act. Enjoy dave (deemo)

I guess I don't get it. I have this DVD, Glenn is an excellent teacher, does it well and seems like the nicest guy you will ever meet. I have most of Bob Sheet's material and know he is a working pro (I am not). However I still find this routine confusing and for entertainment value I have not seen a routine the equal of Bob Kohler's. I realize this plays faster and can be done more easily without the input of spectators since you are doing a "demonstration" my 2 cents.

I liked it.
Liked the final load at the end. Little heavy on the patter side for my tastes, but all in all, I liked it Keep at it |

Looks really good.
The patter builds the con artist theme. The final load was a nice surprise for the spectators. |

Hey all
Thanks for the comments. I'm a big fan of the SFS DVDs and Bob Kohler's Golden Shells... but I've learned a lot from this routine. I've already made changes to it for myself... and there are plenty more to come. But I wanted to enter into the Boot Camp in good faith and do as Bob requested-- "Just learn the routine first, learn it and perform it as is, then do what you want." I think it was great advice-- and except for a few touches that's what folks will see in this performance. Thanks again, Dave

Although I prefer doing a more audience interactive 3 shell game, I'm a great fan of the Bootcamp DVD. It's not only a teaching tool, but it's a great stepping stone to developing your own routine. It has elements of the game that I haven't seen on any other DVD nor read in any of the literature that I have. It's not an easy routine to follow, and I found that I had to write the choreography out in order to learn it, but learn it I did. I then combined it with Kohler, SFS, and Phil Cass elements to make up a routine that I enjoy doing. It certainly was one of the better magic buys I made in recent memory.
