I just found out I will be performing on a norning news show live this Friday on April Fools Day. Any suggestions what I might perform that would be magical and also a good April Fools day gag.

Perhaps a trick that goes supposedly wrong, looking shocked and embarressed you say 'April fool' and finish with a kicker ending?

Cut and restored tie if interviewed by a male. The Web would be fun too!

The old "Gone and Gone Again" or "Wrong and Wrong Again" can be replaced by "April Fool! and Once a Fool Always a Fool!" If you don't recall or have this old kid show trick, you can make one following the instructions for "Giant Monte" in The Wizards' Journal #6 on my site. Just replace the "Vanished" card with the revised April Fool card to perform.

Random Thoughts ... How about focusing on "fooling" rather than "tricking"? ... Bring a selection of optical illusions ... Shrinking head ... just about anything by Daryl, Rainbow ropes (the remix), The (w)hole thing, etc ...

So, Derrick ... what did you end up doing? Is there a video link?

I posted this over at the close-up workers forum too since there is nothing like being given 24 hours to come up something and at the time I was just drawing a big blank. I did get some video of this put have not posted. Hope I will have to edit out my part. I think it went very good, without going overboard.
I didn't do a bit of magic but got great time on the air. Since we were welcoming a new host to the show this morning I wrapped up a beautiful cheese tray and presented it to her as a welcoming gift. It would probably cost around $100. With a lot of fan fair I unwrapped it, gave her a fork and told her she just had to try the goat cheese because it was very rare, made only in Arkansas and shipped around the world. When she poked it with the fork I let tray flip off my hand onto the floor. The whole place just gasped until I picked it up and dustd it off all in once piece. I've had this prop forever and it is a beautiful, incredibly realistic replica cheese tray made of rubber (or a rubber like substance) that is used as a stage prop for commercials and movies when hot lights would ruin the real thing. Just about indestructable too, so when I picked it up in once piece and dusted if off, everybody just fell out laughing. I then welcomed her to the morning show and said April Fools! It was a good spot. Oh, not to mention she is smoking hot. It is possible some of you may know of her since she was 1st Runner-Up in the 2011 Miss America Pageant, is a ventriloquist and recently appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman,". Her name is Alyse Eady and she is one of those folks that if you see 100 people in a room, she will probably be the first one you notice and is truely instantly likeable. Anyway thanks again for your help everybody even though I didn't even really perform a magic trick this morning. If I get time this weekend I'll edit out my segment and post it. it was a fun bit.
