I just got vanishing bandanna trick in today, just in time for a weekend performance! I was so excited until I opened the package......The devils hank that it came with is yellow........ This kinda of takes away from the routine don't you think! I expected a black or red devils hank.... Anyone else have this experience? Maybe a package of RIT dye to change color or buy a new devils hank?

Yes...it kinda sucks that it's yellow. But it doesn't detract from the initial confusion about the yellow BANDANA. The yellow d's hank is still THE prop.
You can get d's hanks on eBay for under ten dollars. Trust me: you are going to want more than one. AND if you didn't get the deluxe version with the velcro bag, just get some zip lock bags and put them into the hank to avoid nasty cleaning issues. I use it in every show where there are a lot of adults as well as kids. David

If yours didn’t come with one (mine didn’t), you may also want to get a yellow bandanna.
Maybe you could pass off the yellow d’hank as the bandanna, and use if for some other trick later. Thom |

Theatrically a yellow devil's hank is no good - they've actually GIVEN you a "yellow bandana"!
Also, unless they've changed the audio, the track says "a square of darkly colored fabric" or something along those lines doesn't it? Demand they give you the correct stuff. |

I drove up to the shop today and showed them what came in the mail.... I explained my concerns and he totally agreed with me. They switched out the hank to a black one with no problem. Now I can perform this routine with confidence.
Thanks for the advise of getting a yellow hank Thom, I thought about that as well. |
