Wanted to indulge in a little back-patting... today, after about a year of practice (anyone familiar with the method knows what I mean), I finally performed Barrie Richardson's ACAAN (method 1 from Theater of The Mind). Went great- no hesitation, perfectly paced, really blew everyone away. Well worth the effort to learn.
One thing I did differently was to use two specs- one for the card, one for the number. This(along with a few more presentational touches) allowed we a few extra seconds to do the 'work'. I think I'm going to try to learn the 13 deck solution next... see you next year. |

The thirteen deck solution is somewhat outdated, as the same thing can be achieved with 3 decks.
Edit: I have had PM's about this. I won't reveal my method here (yet) but I suggest you simple take several decks of different coloured cards and spend an evening working on the maths. In less than two hours I'd reduced it from thirteen decks to just three, and I see no reason others cannot do the same, if not better.
I call myself "Thomas Cooper" here because this stops the magic café appearing when people google my stage name.
Does anyone else find the term "Special User" to be a bit condescending? |

Congratulations, Calvin! I am impressed and delighted that there are guys like you out there who will cheerfully and diligently put in the work (a full year) and then reap the pay off.
Best, Mick Ayres
