At the age of just 20 years old, he was the official Walt Disney World magician. After spending 5 years doing his show at Disney World, Vegas called and Jon answered, becoming a recurring headliner at Caesar’s Magical Empire. It was between these runs in Vegas and a performer at Bill Malone’s Magic Bar in Florida, Jon started doing his tours all over the world as both a performer and lecturer, teaching others how to add humor and entertainment to their magic. He now lives in Los Angeles and is a frequent performer at the world famous Magic Castle. His TV appearances as a talk show guest, featured performer or actor, include shows like “Magic Castle After Dark” on A&E, USA’s “Ready For The Weekend,” and recently on “Masters of Illusions.” He has been featured in trade publications like Magic, The Linking Ring, MUM, Reel Magic and other magic journals worldwide. In December 2004, Jon appeared on the cover of Genii Magazine in an issue dedicated to his magic. In April 2007, after being nominated for the last two years, Jon Armstrong was named “Close up Magician of the Year” by The Academy of Magical Arts. Among magicians, he is also well known for the “Card College Challenge” in where he can perform every move in the all 4-Volumes of Roberto Giobbi’s Classic Card Magic Books! Jon’s Lecture will not be just another trick lecture or a dealer show. Jon will not only teach you some great, original card magic, but also teach you some sleights and techniques that you may have thought were out of your reach. One of the things that make Jon such an in-demand performer is the way he has developed and integrated his character into his magic. It's this synthesis of performance; effect and character that can make 'tricks' become magic. In addition to learning his original card ideas, he will also cover topics such as learning, performance and character. These ideas are useable whether you are a full time pro or just do a few tricks for family and friends. The top professionals have praised his lecture. In fact, the Magic Castle nominated his lecture and will cover techniques with cards, but that can be used to enhance all your magic. Some of the effects Jon will teach are right out of his own current award winning act include: The Blank Monte (A three card Monte routine that takes the sting out of magician is always right scenario and giving it a truly magical climax by personalizing it); What If (giving meaning to the standard take a card trick); I Scream (a business card routine big in effect and in return on clients and using the Frixion pen); Out Of This Blah Blah Blah (a more commercial and entertaining Out Of This World with no sleight of hand); The Biddle Trick (taking a card trick and making it better using new moves and thinking about the standard ones differently); plus much, much, more! Using his amazing blend of dynamic personality and imaginative presentations, he will bring wonder to all who experience him. By combining card magic, humor, and audience participation, Jon will keep you laughing and well-entertained throughout the lecture as well as teach you what he calls “The Superhero Theory of Magic.” “There’s an old saying: ‘if a man fools me once, shame on him. If he fools me twice, it’s probably Jon Armstrong.’ At least that’s my version.” – Ian Rowland “His performances and lecture were really great. – Mike Powers You may have followed Jon on his video column “Small Things, Big Difference” and “Sessions” in Reel Magic Magazine or have seen his best-selling DVD’s “Armstrong Magic Vol.1/2/3.” Now is your chance to witness, learn, and understand the “Magic of Jon Armstrong Live” for ONE NIGHT ONLY!!!
