Contest of Magic:
The recipients of the 2011 Larry West Award (Junior close-up), Junior Stage overall winner and M.A.E.S. Award of Excellence will each receive one free registration to the 2012 M.A.E.S. conference. All awards are bestowed at the discretion of the judges; any or all of the above may be withheld based upon their decision. Hotel Rates:
Room rates $109 per night, single, double, triple or quad occupancy, plus 7% NJ state sales tax and 8% NJ State Occupancy Tax. Rooms must be reserved by 12:00 p.m. on August 2, 2011, and the registrant must mention MAES at the time of reservation.

Exciting New Talent Booked for M.A.E.S Convention 2011

Yumi - Charming and delicate, her elegant performances define the term
"poetry in motion". Yumi has been the recipient of some of magic’s highest
awards across the spectrum of her career, including first prize at the 1998
SAM in Japan, first prize at the world magic friend convention in Tokyo,
Japan in 1999, second place in General Magic at FISM in Lisbon in 2000, and
the Baird/Foster Award for Manipulation in 2008 (at the Abbotts Magic Get
Together). You will not want to miss the opportunity to see this gifted
performer.

Sharii Nelson - In 2006, Sharii was featured in the S.A.M. National
Convention Stars of Tomorrow Show and won MAES Best Newcomer Award for 2006.
Before her 16th birthday, she won a scholarship for her performance at the
World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas. At age 17 in 2010, she won the General
Magic, Award of Excellence and Best Junior Stage Act awards at MAES, making
her one of the most honored contestants in MAES history.

MAES will take place Sept. 1, 2 and 3 at The Crowne Plaza hotel in
Cherry Hill, NJ. If you have not already signed up, you should do so
immediately.

I would like to make a plea on behalf of the MAES. I know a number of you
who will be attending have not yet reserved your rooms. We would really
like you to do that ASAP before August 19th. We have not made
our room commitment to the hotel at this point and have until Noon on August 19th
to do so. If we don’t have a sufficient number of room nights booked by
attendees, it will cost the organization a lot of money (that means
several thousands of dollars) for use of the hotel facilities. Please,
please book your rooms immediately.

There is a phenomenal roster of talent appearing over the
three days featuring three gala shows, a close-up show, numerous
lectures, dealer room and a close-up and stage contest. I would
