That goey stuff that almost no real magician uses (because it leaves your fingers too sticky). Does anybody us this stuff and for what effect? I like the idea but it seems impractical. I need to find a good use for it.
Thanks, koan
if a dove appears in the woods and no one is around to see it... is it magic?

It's more of a mess for me to have to deal with. I used it once just to annoy a teacher, but it got more messy than anything.

P.S. this is what part of the alphabet would look like if "Q" and "R" were eleminated

I have never used this in a routine of any sort, and I can't picture any magicians doing so.
There are professional versions for creating smoke from hands/fingertips. Keep the novelties in the joke shops, and the real props in the magic shops! Kevin |

You can make that gooey stuff really easily.
Peel the striking surface off a matchbox, wrap it face down on a nickel surface (lots of things are coated with nickel, because its shiny and silver and doesn't rust) such as a silver key. Burn the paper. You will see a bluish burning where the striker contacts the metal. The brown residue will smoke when rubbed. Done in the dark, there is a faint blue phosphorescent effect. And here's an idea for a use for this. Do a simple coin retention pass, and rub your fingers together as if rubbing the coin... viola! Coin to smoke! |

Coin retention pass is great for this effect, but the effect is strong even without it. I'll let you figure it out.

I do not think they are talking about the match version which is your burning flesh but the stuff in a tube that is sticky, stinks and makes sticky spider webs when you touch and open your fingers together.
Believe it or not, if you use it right, it does look like smoke. Messy yes. I remember being a kid, getting a tube and getting it all over the place. |
