That looked really good. Especially the disembodied head shot!

I loved the jib shot as well. When David Copperfield built his Disembodied years ago, the shape and prop design was specifically to allow a special camera crane move inside the prop that he really wanted.

Russ:
I the promo... and you have the ONLY slicer I've seen with a pedestal that actually looks like a pedestal and not a condominium. Love the disembodied spiker.. and the quality of your "casting"... as someone who does that type of thing for a living. Well done... and shows more magic than most promos.. with fewer cuts which are normal a sign of less talent. |

Thanks everyone for the positive words.
The Slicer was an early Mendoza one and the casting was actually by Madame Tussauds in London, which explains why it was so well made. Best, Russ |

I imagine that Tussauds' castings are p0rnographically pricey...but they sure are worth every penny.

Hello Fabio,
I was extremely lucky in that I knew a director of Tussauds in London and so was able to get this made for me. At that time I know that they didn't commission work outside of their own pieces used in the exhibition. It was quite an experience to have made by such an amazing team of artists. The head had individual hairs attached and eyelashes, which added to the realism. I remember when I went to collect the finished piece with my friend, he freaked out when they opened the box! Although solid wax, the skin looked incredibly soft and yes Ray, it's very heavy too! Best, Russ |

Sweet!
I've been to a couple of Tussauds' museums, their works are seriously well done and kind of creepy in a way, haha. I can only wonder the pranks one could play on friends and family, but that is part of my twisted sense of humor :-P Quote: On 2011-05-22 20:29, russ stevens wrote: |
