Great customer service. José contacted me and made this a successful interaction.
He is obviously working hard to make MentalShocks successful. Thanks. Jim |

I posted the comments below in another forum but, wanted to make sure it appeared here also.
"Very nice routine and very well written up and well thought out. I appreciate a writer that eliminates those things which are not absolutely necessary. My only problem is the one “simple” sleight required to pull it off. Even though I’ve done card magic for over 40 years that is the one sleight I’ve never felt comfortable performing. I’m now trying to come up with effective alternatives. Given the above. It is a good effect and well worth the price." Now that I've read the above I look forward to getting the new handling to see if it corrects my problems. Ted

The additional handling is a nice addition that is not difficult to execute. You take back the deck from the spectator for a few seconds while you recap the complete fairness of their freely turning over any card they like. Your move is complete and you hand them the deck back and let them run through the cards themselves to see what card they freely reversed. They do this themselves and the only thing to find at this point is a complete deck of cards with only one card reversed, their free selection. Bam, a perfect match to your prediction. Try out the additional handling. Funny thing is after running through the original pdf file and missing a step I discovered this handling too and it fit me better. Try it and use it, this way or the original way. It's good!

Okay Rus sent me an updated method for this, a tiny change makes a HUGE difference! this effect is now even better.
I tried it out earlier today using the new handling I recieved, the look on the spectators face when they discover thier freely chosen card has FATE on the back is priceless! The new handling lets the spectator do near on all the work, and all the clean up work is done halfway through the effect which is great as I'm way ahead of the spectator. Also as a force this is great as the spectator can now go through the cards themselve's and take it out without showing the performer, once again they are doing all the work, apart from a minor part this is pretty much hands off! GREAT effect. Thanks for the new handling Rus. Im looking forward to Numbers Re-run! |

This is the kind of effect I like . But a typical problem with buying magic is you have to buy it to see if you like the handling . I can think of some easy ways to do it .. but don't particularly like the way I would have to handle the cards to find the selection , so I would be curious if there was a better way here . But typically there is no demo so I don't even know what the spec sees ! Too expensive for one trick that I have to gamble on , for me .
I only mention this because I am finding it an increasing problem in buying magic . We don't just want effects , the handling makes all the difference and I have been fooled many times into buying effects that I wont use. |

I have been using this, and its great, as I mentioned above the look on the specs face when they see the fate card is great. The handling for this is simple and direct.
Look forward to seeing the demo. |

Rus,
How does the method for this differ from Eric Ross's Election? Kam

Good question…
Election is a great effect, but does has its flaws.. One being that the spectator cutting the deck behind their back, to the smarter laymen would place the card the spectator reversed near the bottom of the deck? Trying to explain this without exposure is hard. Also getting a spectator to cut the deck behind their back is hard work as 9 times out of ten they will either drop them or bring them back to the front to cut them as they are struggling with it. These were the parts I didn’t like and wanted to eradicate. Also ARMY OF ONE takes a second to set and is pretty much impromptu. This uses only one deck and has 5 routines that come with it for gamblers, mentalists and magicians. I have sent you a PM. All the best R |
