I was just wondering if this can be done close up (can't see why not) but I have only seen it done as stage.

If anyone does do it close up (or tried and failed), I would love to hear from you.

Many thanks,

Danny

I actually did it yesterday close-up. It works very well both in stand-up and close-up.
I am getting so tired of slitting the throats of people who say that I am a violent psychopath.

I've done it close up for friends one-on-one and in a parlor setting and it's worked great.

I do it pretty much every close up gig. It works for any age and always goes over. Some guys may think PN is over done, but it never fails.

Thank you, one for my "to learn list" then, though I am keeping the list small so I have a chance to get good at it!

Best wishes,

Do yourself a favor and learn the Slydini handling. It's pure gold!

Slydini is a great handling. I also highly recommend Fiber Optics Extended by Richard Sanders. The DVD has very clear and concise instruction and contains a variety of moves. It is great performed close up.

I do PN from time to time in close up situations. I think it's a very magical effect. I often combine it with a few other rope effects.

I second Fiber Optics - good for just about all settings.

Get the Set of rope DVD by Darly and your find a whole world of stuff you can do with rope. But PN is a great trick.
Enjoy your magic,

and let others enjoy it as well!

I've only done Professor's nightmare close-up. Usually I incorporate it in my Easter magic teaching the Holy Trinity. Three things different but accually the same.

Ditto.

Sometimes I use my regular ropes. At other times I tie it into the ring and cord routine. I use the crimson velvet cord cut into the 3 lengths, then seque into the ring bit. I bought the soft cord on an auction site in bulk, quite a while ago. Sometimes I give the little one away.

I used to do it as part of a rope routine which included a couple of effects with the whole rope then I'd cut the rope to the needed lengths, do the PN and then give the rope away. Almost always closeup.

I have very little performing experience and even I have done this one for close up. It was well received and I never got busted.
