I've heard of mechanical goldfish. Do you guys think these could be used for an aerial fishing routine on a stage? Thanks.
Jim

If you buy this product, that is the intended use of their invention.
Not a bad price, as well. http://www.plasplasplas.com/shop/product......s_id=258 |

Fish look awesome. If I was still gonna do aerial fishing, I would get 'em.

They look a little too fat for real goldfish. But, they are nice.
I think you would have to get one and see how they compare to the fish bait fish before deciding to invest in four of them. Richard

Do they have to be in a special bowl in order for the goldfish to work? The goldfish look like they got some magnet in it, and the bowl controls the movement?

You CAN tell from the pictures and video, Bill. Being that there's a large, suspicious-looking rock under the bowl kinda gives it away. I've seen similar in toy stores, and I don't think it's any type of exposure considering the website states as much....and it not a magic effect, per se, anyway. If someone asked how a blender worked, I don't think answering truthfully is a discussion of "methods" like those frowned upon here.
From the site: Two fishes with electromagnetic movement Fishbowl and a special support James, I think this could be used. However, not with the same bowl production you were asking about in another thread. I think, though, to be very effective, you would need to do it at a distance - where the audience can really only see orange spots moving around the bowl. I don't think the fish look real enough otherwise. It would be interesting to know how fast the fish "sync up" with the bowl, as real fish tend to dart around as soon as they hit the water.

Michael,
You got me: I wanted the fish for the kicker a bowl of water production per my previous post. I intended it for stage work only. Jim

Jim, I use to produce a small bowl of water that Abbott's sells.
http://www.abbottmagic.com/Abbotts-Moder......tbwl.htm I put Abbott's fake fish in it, it worked okay, being you are moving the bowl around while holding it, the fish moves, does not swim, but it is not left out. I put it away. Any of the fake fish will work for what you want to use them for, I don't think you would say, "Now lets all watch the fish swim around a while." If you are going to use the table model bowl production, then I would use real fish. More work but more impressive as well. |

Dear magic friends, Thanks so much for your interest in my products. About the electronic gold fish that you were discussing, just now I've improved them and now you don't need any base to move them. Also now they are bigger and look like absolutely alive.
Take a look here:http://www.xaviertapias.com/shop/es/ed-s......ish.html About the Aerial fishing trick, I've just created with the help of an Spanish brilliant magician, Gonzalo Albiñana, an absolutely new version of this incredible trick with two great improvements (I think so): First: No alive fish are needed! Second: No necessary to replace the bait each time. An automatic reset allows the magician to repeat the apparition each time. A video is in progress but by the moment you will find more information here: http://www.xaviertapias.com/shop/en/seri......ium.html That's all folks! I need a real "magic café" in my favorite bar here in Barcelona! BYE!! :o) |

There is just one problem in order to use the Aerial Fishing pole that Xavier Tapias had create, you need to seriously love magic. His products are extremely well made, diabolically clever, incredible pieces of professional magic. He is not only an incredibly talented crafstman, he is also mad. Completely. That´s the reason which explains his unique way of working in order to make art, with his own work and the amazing things, like this wonderful toy, that he create. I consider myself lucky because I saw every step of the creation of the pole, and you have to believe me...there is nothing like this.
