Very nice. Over the years I have went back and forth about using older coins or using coins that are polished up that glisten. In this case a very shiny coin is a big plus. Now you need a good routine that you can work that into.
Respectfully, Phil P.S. Did I say NICE!? |

Phil,
Thank you for the kind words. I know that many other people have started to try and create a new trick every day. I will be attempting to follow in there footsteps and hopefully create a lot of things that are different. If anyone would like to check it out. http://andrewdoddscreation.tumblr.com/ Thanks! |

This looks remarkably similar to something I put out years ago. I called it the Toss, Catch, Vanish.

That's where I originally got the idea for a toss and catch vanish, but I wanted something that was cleaner. With this vanish the other hand never comes into play, which makes it strong. The coin is also available for retrieval at anytime. With this method you can use it as a change or a switch as well.

Not sure what you mean as to the "other hand not coming into play?" It seems like both hands are in play to me???
While I like this, I've seen something done like this pretty much before or used in an effect I seem to remember, especially the Toss & catch part of it. I'd like to see Chad's offering just so I can behold an immediate comparison. Anyway, it looks pretty good.

When I say not used I am refering to the method. The left hand never recieves the coin in any way, which is in stark contrast to chads method. That is the reason it is different than any method I have seen to date. To see chads version I believe it was used on his holy grail 3 fly

I originally thought TCV as well, but then was reminded of a pen vanish Jim Pace used to do that had similar timing to this. Brett Bishop used something similar to vanish a Jumbo.

Hey guys I put up some variations of the vanishes using the same technique that I am calling "Icarus". I hope you enjoy. Let me know what you guys think. http://andrewdoddscreation.tumblr.com/

In my version the coin was tossed up and the stationary left hand would actually catch the coin as the right hand acted as it did during its right to left sweeping across motion. You can see it in this old video here
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/984 So if the coin isn't going into the left hand in your vanish, then that could be an improvement. Dependant on where it actually is going and how easy it is to retrieve. |

Chad,
Im planning on putting a one coin routine using this principle as a stand alone in order to demonstrate just how easy it is to retrieve. Andrew |

WTF? Man, I've watched a lot of coin DVDs and read a few books, too, but I have no idea how you pulled that off. And I watched it three times. Nice work.
