It's been a while since I've posted on this particular illusion ... but, something else recently came up. A good friend of mine purchase a used Sommers Lightbulbs thru Girl illusion and it needs a little work. Apparently it was in storage and some of the metal corroded and was in disrepair. After going over the prop and blowing every fuse in the house .. it was actually pretty funny, we determined it was the little bulbs in the back that were burning out. It's an odd size bulb, I believe used for appliances. The base is about 3/8" of an inch and 25 watts. I checked at Menards .. with no luck. Anyone know where to get this one?

If the bulbs are no longer available, consider replacing with Plexiglas tubes (actually solid rods) that glow when you put a bright LED at one end. Alternative - wooden dowels painted with day glow and lit by UV light.

Vinny .. you are awesome! I found them on bulbman.com and they are the 25T8C. They have a candelabra base E12.
Thank you for your help .. I knew I could count on my friends here on the Café! Steve |
