Plus it looks as if it didn't go off as he had expected since the prop got dropped. His prop and audience management skills failed him there. I too agree his costume and demeanor is off putting on the video. But his audience is clearly enjoying the show.

Perhaps someone should invite him here to face his accusers. Especially the naughty child that put the video up in the first place.

He he. Kihei Kid, I suggest you do a little research to find out more about Mark Lewis. He's a rather well-known and much-loved antagonist, and I promise you, he will eat you alive! What's more the rest of us will gladly sit by and watch with glee. We love Mark, and respect him immensely. Read his words of wisdom, but don't dare to criticise Mark unless you really know what you're talking about.
Oh, yes, he has received a lot of criticism....but very few folks can get away with this without serious and sometimes offensive responses. Usually very funny to read, but it's not particularly edifying to be the butt of Mark Lewis's wrath. Getting back to the video in question, I still maintain that the guy that this thread is about has a great angle. Personally I feel he has passion and theater in his show which so many others lack. His act needs work, but whose act doesn't? My main criticism is that his vocal dynamics are lousy. Like the vast majority of kids' performers, he doesn't vary his pitch and volume sufficiently to draw the kids into his crazy world. Otherwise I find his act engaging and entertaining. Potty |

He's definitely come up with an interesting character...I wonder where the idea of using a prosthetic p e n I s as a nose came from.

I dunno,Harv, Postman Pat is pretty phallus-faced and he does alright for himself.
Doug, I enjoy some of Mark's posts too but less of the sycophantism, it's just weird. |

If Potty wishes to be a sycophant I find it terribly commendable and I would be happy to encourage it. It isn't necessarily true mind you since we have often had arguments about his tendency to include nose emissions and wind emanations in his performances. If he was really a "sycophant" those arguments would not have happened. As for George he has the misfortune to be from Yorkshire and I contend that it is utterly impossible for a Yorkshireman to be a sycophant. They are far too down to earth.
As for Starrpower he need have no worry about idol worship. He won't be getting much of it. |

I'm delighted that this thread has turned into debate about my heritage.
You're both right. I was born in Doncaster, Yorkshire but have lived mostly in Belfast since I was 5. 3 out of 4 of my grandparents are from Ireland. Exciting stuff, huh? |

I am surprised that George has a Yorkshire accent if he has been in Belfast since he was 5. That is a magic trick in itself.

I don't care where George is from. I like his posts because they are generally amusing.
I suppose Mark makes a valid point; randomly critiquing someone else' show is a bit catty. Still, public performances are open to assessment, I suppose, and one of the ways we learn is to discuss and evaluate what we see. Maybe the solution is to discuss such things privately and not in open forum. It's a shame that TMC does not have private breakout rooms. |
