How impatient are you, Magic Maker?
Wait and see..........

Much depends on what you are expecting. If you expect to be shown how to pretend to bend spoons, etc., with your mind, you will not be disappointed. If you expect to be shown how to bend spoons with your mind, you will be disappointed.

This is the best source of information on the subject, and includes an extensive list of suggested titles and effects on metal bending so you can make your own opinion on how it rates. The techniques taught are great and regardless of what you may feel about the presentation of the effects( I felt they were presented more as stunts than as serious pieces of powerful mentalism), you will still learn the best methods and expert tips on the subject.

I'm also going to buy Patrik Kuffs video. I heard it's very comprehensive.
I liked the banachek video because of the techniques taught, but it was extremely boring to watch. |

No offense to Kuffs, but if your looking for excitement, Kuffs video is a little well lacking in that department. Each trick is explained about 3-4 times. Heck isn't that what the rewind button is for?
But: its very comprehensive and well worth the cost. Kuffs, your still my favorite canadian mentalist, really! |

Banachek's routine is very strong and very well routined - the video is too dark and Jerry is a little too animated but it's a great bending routine.

The Banachek video is better, IMO because it focuses more on presentation, and without presentation we are nothing.
However, I would recommend you buy the Kuffs tape AFTER the Banachek one because there are more bend techniques on there (one problem I have is with hard-to-bend cutlery, the stuff Banachek uses must be made from silver foil!) |

I'm using two of Banachek's bends in my stage show now and its great. I'm still working on the presentation to fit the theme of my show, but that's my problem and not Banacheck's. I found his presentation tips to qualify as subtlties about bending the silverware and about working with a volunteer-both are helpful even as I adapt the presentation to suit my show.
I was doing a third bend, but it turned out to be too difficult to see at a distance. Keep this in mind if you are working stage - its a "small" trick. Banachek uses giant projection screens when he does bending on stage. - Greg Owen

If you're interested in being a good metal bender, then get your hands on anything on the subject. Knowledge is power!
As an example, you'll learn the amazing Alain Nu bend on the Kuffs video, but not on Banachek's, though you'll learn perfect presentation techniques on Banachek's and a couple of different bends not available on the Kuffs video, and on and on with other talent etc.... :comply:

How about the Mind Bender DVD? I've seen it on Penguin, comes with a coin and rubber band trick.
Thanks
