I didn't find very much doing a search. (2005 was the last post I believe.)
Is anyone using this? What are you views on it? Thanks

Do you mean Clair Cummings' Idiot Rope Trick? I used it maybe 20 years ago and for what it is it is fine as a finishing gag to a rope routine.

I use to do this all time in my rope routine. It is still available from Magic Inc., it is only a printed manuscript.
http://www.magicinc.net/idiotropetrick.aspx I no longer have the instructions, but as I remember Bob Lewis's name was originally associated on this version. To be honest, I never got a whole lot out of it as presented in the instructions. Now, many years later, I think it would have been a little more successful with some patter jokes. I did present it a dozen times or so. I like the pop off knot so much, that I never returned to this trick to work on it. Maybe the OP is referring to another trick by the same name. |

They only show the performance of Insomnia and Idiot Rope Trick on Bob's DVD. He points out that they are commercial effects.
