The Yuppies want Central Park for a private playground. The Burghers want Key West for a merchants paradise. If you are wandering the streets for an evening of entertainment, stay out of the upper class neighborhoods. If you only have a discretionary dollar or two to spend, you are welcome to spend it in the local tourist traps, but the local businesses don't want you giving it to any scruffy Buskers. Never mind that if you are a working class stiff that can't afford more than an evening stroll on a nice Friday night and its the street theater that brought you to town in the first place. It's always been this way.

Did I say $250 for the insurance? Looks like it's more around $320 on Key West. Now approaching $500 annually, I'll bet this goes the way of the dodo over the next 18 months. That or New Orleans & Boulder will soon have a huge influx of buskers...which is perfect.
Meet you in Busker Alley
