Hi All.
Is there a particular brand of double stick tape that's recommended for a flipper? Also, do you change the tape each time you change the band? Thanks in advance, -- Frank |

Roy Kueppers is selling his Flipper Repair Kit that includes 25 bands, two (2) 6" rolls of double-sided tape, an emery nail file, a handy tip with an included paper strip and instructions use. It includes enough material for 12 changes (his banded coins are cut deep enough for two bands). The cost is $10 and includes shipping from Ontario, Canada. Look up the telephone number on http://www.roykueppers.com and Roy a call to order the kit as it is not yet on his updated website.
To answer your original question, there are no brands of double-sided tape that I know of that are thin enough to use in flipper coins, with the exception of the tape used/sold by Roy and I am not sure of the brand. With this particular tape, you should not need to change it each time you change a band, but that would be ideal. As an addendum to the question, I prefer using the double-sided tape over super glue because it is quicker to repair/change bands with it, it usually (98% of the time) does not require removal of any residual adhesive from the insert the way super glue does, and if it ever needs to be adjusted on the go, it can be. I hope this information is useful to you. |

I'm currently using Scotch Permanent Double-Sided tape.
Make sure you get the "permanent" one... grabbed my spool of "removable" by mistake on my last change and couldn't figure out why it wasn't holding. I'd change the tape on each band replacement just to keep things "fresh". |
